Receptionist

Basic Function

The operation of a Fujitsu switchboard, answering and directing incoming calls, the operation of the NIRA paging system and internal paging of customers over PA system. This position deals directly with customer queries.

Reporting Responsibilities

Reports directly to the Assistant Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

School certificate and preferable at least two years experience in similar reception position. Experience in a customer service role and knowledge of use of a multi-line telephone switchboard are also preferable.

Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance and knowledge of the Clubs articles of Association , including relevant Statutes, Acts of parliament and Government Regulations Specifically as follows:

  • Liquor Act
  • Gaming and Betting Act
  • Registered Clubs Act
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Anti-Discrimination Act 

Efficient operation of the Fujitsu switchboard.
Efficient operation of NIRA Paging system and PA system
Efficient operation of Security Car park intercom.
Provision of cloakroom service for all customers.
General clerical duties.
Perform duties of a Customer Greeting Attendant as and when directed.
To greet all customers in a polite manner, as in accordance with the standard procedures of the club.
The enactment of emergency procedures when directed to do so by the Head Warden. (See Fire and Emergency Procedures Handbook.)
The operation of security and emergency response paging (as directed).
Assisting customers with general inquiries.
Assisting in Renewals of Membership and New Membership applications.
Assisting in the selling of tickets and goods in the Retail Shop.
Must have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the club; i.e. restaurants, gaming, sporting amenities, TAB / Keno, bars, offices and cellar.
Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace at all times.
Accurate recording and distribution of all personal or telephone messages.
Perform any additional tasks or duties as directed by either of the Operations Managers or Supervisors.
